Overview:
This Old Town Medieval group tour takes you through the charming, maze-like streets of Alfama and Mouraria, two of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. Led by our expert local guides, you’ll experience the essence of medieval Lisbon while covering more ground than on a traditional walking tour—without the effort of climbing its famous hills! As you weave through Alfama’s historic alleyways, you’ll admire the Moorish-inspired architecture, colorful tiled façades, and traditional Fado music drifting from taverns tucked away in hidden corners. You’ll pass by Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa), the city’s oldest church, standing for nearly 900 years as a witness to Lisbon’s transformations over the centuries. The tour continues to the National Pantheon, an architectural masterpiece that took almost 300 years to complete. This grand monument is the final resting place of Portugal’s greatest historical figures, and its impressive dome offers a breathtaking silhouette against the city skyline.
