THE PROBLEM
Why SEE Countries Was Created
Portugal does not lack remarkable tourism experiences. It lacks a simpler and more effective way to discover and distribute many of them.
Travellers often move between websites, social media accounts and different booking platforms before finding the right activity. At the same time, many excellent local operators struggle to reach international audiences or integrate their services into the digital guest journey.
Hotels face a similar challenge. Guests regularly ask what they should visit and which local experiences they can trust, but many hotels do not have the technology or operational capacity to manage those recommendations efficiently.

Our Story
The idea behind SEE Countries emerged from direct experience in the Portuguese tourism sector.
Before creating the platform, Renato Calvão worked in tourist transportation and saw how frequently travellers needed help finding experiences, transfers and reliable local services.
The problem was not a lack of supply. It was fragmentation. Travellers searched across several channels, operators struggled to reach the right audiences and hotels lacked a centralised solution.
This experience led Renato Calvão and Eduardo Pereira to develop SEE Countries in 2024.
